| Description: | Manage the design and development of new footwear from initial concept through sales samples to production confirmation with an emphasis on delivering projects and related samples according to predetermined timelines while keeping an eye towards improving the competitiveness of Rocky Brands Footwear. Continual update and development of market knowledge will be essential as are leadership and strong communication skills. Primary responsibilities will include working on the design of new project development with basic to complex and advanced level product and material development; taking a leadership role in the development of new products and mentoring the development team. Travel to our domestic and foreign offices including Asia will be 30% of the time. |
| Requirements: | This expert level position works on the most complex development projects requiring state of the art technical knowledge, proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and freehand rendering. Skill in Excel and word will also be required. Other programs will be a plus. The successful candidate will possess at least five solid years broad footwear/development understanding and experience on many different footwear construction types with evidence of successful market adoptions. A BachelorâÂÂs Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering and/or Design relevant footwear experience and education is preferred. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Experience with Asian factories a must. |
